This guide covers services allowing brand owners to protect their assets against cybersquatting.
All these services rely on a TMCH record (or multiple TMCH records).
Such record primarily allow:
To have the right to register domains - in first priority - during the launch of new extensions. This priority occurs during the sunrise period phase, which precede subsequent first-come first-serve phases that are open to everyone.
To block any domain registrations matching your brand, as long as you subscribe to the blocking service.

1. TMCH
Sunrise period priority Blocking service prerequisite
This service is developed by the Trademark Clearinghouse , TMCH in short.
TMCH is a centralized database of verified trademarks. Registered trademarks are protected during the launching (sunrise) periods of new domain extensions. Additional services are also provided.
In addition, a TMCH record is a prerequisite to benefit from the 4 blocking services describe in the following sections.

This service can be ordered directly from the Trademark Clearinghouse. It can also be ordered from IP providers.

Around USD 150 per trademark record per year

2. TREx
Blocking services
This service is also developed by the Trademark Clearinghouse.
It currently covers 40+ extensions, managed by several registry operators. It is expected to have more extensions covered by the service in the future.
TREx stands for Trademark Registry Exchange.

3. DPML
Blocking services
This service is developed by Donuts , acting as registry for more than 200 extensions.
DPML stands for Domains Protected Marks List.
There are two versions of this service: DPML and DPML+.

DPML services available from registrars as well as providers focusing on corporates and brand owners such as Intellectual Property providers. They cannot be ordered directly from Donuts.

4. Uni EPS
Blocking services
This service is developed by UNR (Uni Naming & Registry). It covers 23 extensions.
Uni EPS stands for Uniregistry Extended Protection Service.
Similarly to the DPML programs, there are also two versions of this service: Uni EPS and Uni EPS+.

5. AdultBlock
Blocking services
This service is developed by the ICM Registry (MMX).
It allows to help protecting a trademark across all four adult-categorized extensions:

.PORN
.SEX
.XXX
Similarly to the DPML programs, there are also two versions of this service: AdultBlock and AdultBlock+.
